Dubai, UAE, 20th July — DiveAdvisor, a new tech startup with its sight set on building the ultimate ‘site’ for Scuba Divers is set to be approach the end of the test phase with many cool features ready to be rolled out.
The project features over 7000 listed Scuba centric businesses, both static dive shops and live aboard dive boats, over 19000 Dive Sites, i.e.: places where you can dive, over 1000 marine animals along with pictures and specifications as well as a lot more useful databases.
There are over 500 unique written advisory articles on virtually all destinations, and in fact the project is a primarily built up of user generated content in the form of users reviews, articles, pictures & 'dive logs'.
The project is delivered through 2 mobile applications for the Apple & Android platforms as well as a website at diveadvisor.com.
Currently, the team has completed automatic API integration with TripAdvisor to pull reviews for dive operations from there onto the respective pages and creating a set of widgets to help dive businesses connect the site with their websites.
At the same time, the team is working on a new version of the mobile application that will be more modern and have an Instagram/Tumblr style feed that will allow users to follow and communicate with each other in a web 2.0 culture & best practices.
All User Interactions are being tested currently along with many of the first users helping out in the iterative process.
