The green rush is bringing out the tech companies in full force. The cannabis industry is making a lot of young entrepreneurs rich with a compound annual growth rate of 30% per year why wouldn't anyone want a piece of the pie. A company out of Los Angeles is setting its sights on the entire pie and a side of cake.
Weedmenu is set to be the first complete cannabis business directory app for the marijuana industry. With so many people in support of marijuana legalization more and more tech companies are rushing to be the pioneers of this industry but who really is behind the Green Rush is the People. The People have spoken and they want legalization of cannabis now. With so many medical benefits one can no longer ignore the facts about cannabis anymore. From the debunking of it being a gateway drug to the actual medical benefits, cannabis is winning and is shedding its old stigma of being 'the lazy man's drug' in fact it's making people get off their couches and join in on the financial rewards. From stopping cartels from making a profit from it to helping small businesses earn money in their communities, it's a win win situation. Cannabis is winning every battle it's encountering and for good reason. With cannabis being a scheduled 1 drug under the Controlled Substance Act it's been hard for scientists to research it's medical benefits but with the momentum it's currently having it looks like cannabis will soon be legalized in all 50 states. Nine countries have already legalized marijuana and Canada is set to move for complete legalization in 2018. In the United States alone legal pot sales sored from $5.4 billion a year in 2015 to $6.7 billion in 2016 and it doesn't seem to be slowing down.
Weedmenu has been attracting investors from all walks of life, from celebrities with a passion for legalization to conservatives who normally wouldn't invest in such a controversial product. We reached out to CEO, Octavio Sanchez, and asked him what sets Weedmenu apart from other cannabis apps out on the market now and his response was, "We are a totally new and unique app. We are not targeting dispensaries or strains like other apps are. We are focusing on providing a platform for everyday people to have access at all legal cannabis products and services out on the Market and making our app so user friendly that even your grandmother will use it to find her new arthritis medicine".
One thing is for sure, there is no slowing down in sight for the cannabis industry and if you're not part of the green rush you may soon regret it.
