Library of Congress archives website of Modern Whig Party's presidential candidate, T.J. O'Hara

Washington, D.C., (PRBuzz.com) September 5, 2012 -- The United States Library of Congress announced that it is archiving the website of independent presidential candidate, T.J. O'Hara, for historical purposes. O'Hara recently received the endorsement of the Modern Whig Party. It represented the first endorsement of a presidential candidate by the Whigs since the 1850s.

The Library of Congress preserves the Nation's cultural artifacts and provides enduring access to them. The Library's traditional functions, acquiring, cataloging, preserving and serving collection materials of historical importance to the Congress and the American people to foster education and scholarship, extend to digital materials, including websites.

The Modern Whig Party and O'Hara are both rather unique.

The Modern Whig Party endorsement is not conditioned upon O'Hara's compliance with the party's platform. According to Andrew Evans, the party's National Chairperson, "Unlike other parties, the Modern Whig Party does not require a candidate to conform to its platform. We value integrity, independent thought, and exceptional leadership, and those are the qualities we found in T.J. O'Hara. To his credit, Mr. O'Hara made it clear from the start that he would not accept an endorsement that had any strings attached."

O'Hara also is unlike traditional candidates. He doesn't do campaign speeches. Instead, he does live, open Q&As because he believes that voters should have the opportunity to test the depth and breadth of a leader's knowledge.

With over 25 years of corporate turnaround experience, he is proposing a responsible "right-sizing" of the Federal Government by identifying and eliminating redundancies and driving operating efficiencies and effectiveness into the Departments and Agencies of the Executive branch. He also has identified specific private-sector solutions that either obviate the need for Federal intervention or leverage existing taxpayer investments without requiring additional taxpayer dollars (an approach no other candidate has suggested).

O'Hara believes non-partisan leadership is the only way to rebuild a consensus in Washington, D.C., and he has a unique plan to overcome party obstructionists. He is also pushing for campaign finance and election reform (which he has voluntarily embraced in his own campaign) to address the weaknesses of the current electoral system and precluding them from recurring.
