Tucker Consulting & Training Services ALICE Training Helps Save Lives During Active Shooter Events

Jacksonville, FL---June 7, 2017---Yolanda M. Tucker, Certified ALICE Instructor and President of Tucker Consulting & Training Services appeared on River City Live (RCL) yesterday to discuss ALICE training, who should take the training, and where the training can be utilized.  Tucker and RCL Co-Host Mark Payton discussed the latest Active Shooter event which took place in Orlando, Florida on Monday.  Five employees were killed.  They also discussed the GMAC workplace shooting that took place in Jacksonville, Florida in 1990 and the Columbine High School tragedy.  Ten were killed and four were critically injured in the GMAC shooting on Baymeadows Way in Jacksonville, Florida.  In Columbine, students and staff lay await sitting under tables to be executed for four minutes and ten seconds under traditional lockdown.

ALICE response options teaches common sense that’s not common knowledge.  There are common sense tactics that ALICE training teaches that will give ALICE trained citizens an advantage over an Active Shooter and the knowledge needed to safely take control of the situation back from the Active Shooter.  Law enforcement is doing everything they can to get to you once they get the initial call but statistics show that most active shooter events are over before law enforcement arrives to the scene.  Fourteen people were shot in two minutes in the GMAC attack.   That’s why you need to know how you can help yourselves and your co-workers and/or students if you ever find yourself in an Active Shooter event.

ALICE equals Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate.  These response options are not deployed sequentially.  ALICE training teaches individuals to access the situation, where they are, and the information they are privy to when determining which response option they should initiate in hopes of reducing injury and death to all employees, students or church members.  When Mark asked Yolanda during the interview, who this training is for; Yolanda responded this training is for everybody.  ALICE response options can be utilized in workplaces, schools, churches, movie theaters, malls, etc.

Tucker Consulting and Training Services offers affordable blended learning training for $69 per person.  Our blended training includes classroom scenario training and an ALICE online portal training.  Volume discounts are available.  ALICE training could possibly garner your organization an insurance discount.  Check with your agent.
