SMi Group's masterclass on How to do Business with the Indian Armed Forces takes place in London on 5 April 2016. Col Sharma commanded 74 Armoured Regiment and participated in Operation PARAKRAM. He has held important instructional staff and command appointments during his career in the Army spanning 27 years, including command of a Battalion at the prestigious Indian Military Academy. He was appointed the Dean of Facuty of Studies and Chief Instructor at the Armoured Corps Centre and School, Ahmednagar. He founded the faculty to encourage and promote R&D and spirit of innovation. He left service in 2007 and started publishing 'South Asia Defence & Strategic Review', a bimonthly journal focussing on military and security affairs in the region. He has edited an published a number of books on military matters and an independent defence analyst and consultant.
