Farmingville, New York – Brookhaven Town Supervisor Edward P. Romaine and Frederick C. Braun III, chairman of the Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency (IDA) and the Brookhaven Local Development Corp. (LDC), announced the appointment of Rocky Point advertising and marketing professional Gary Pollakusky to the boards of the Brookhaven IDA and LDC.

Pollakusky is managing partner of Media Barrel LLC, a “New Media” agency with expertise in online business and brand identity development / management, public and media relations, new media advertising, digital event planning and promotions, and associated consumer brand and employer brand initiatives.

“Gary Pollakusky brings new expertise to the boards of the Brookhaven IDA and Brookhaven LDC,” Supervisor Romaine said. “I am sure he will put his knowledge and experience to work for this important agency as it continues its efforts to strengthen the town’s economy.”

Pollakusky, a Baldwin native who now resides in Rocky Point, is a 1998 graduate of Cornell University. He started Media Barrel in 2002.  He worked for Bernard Hodes Group, Brilliance Audio, Inc, and AHL Services, Inc. and with the American Foundation for the Blind.
