Everywhere you turn, the message is, invest and you will get a return. Invest and watch your Net Worth grow. Fundamentally this is great, but what if you simply do not have any money at the end of the month to invest or save.
Here are some startling facts provided by "FINRA Foundation -2012 State by State Financial Capability Survey"
59 % of Americans surveyed reported spent more than their income.
More than 56% do not have rainy day savings.
Over 34% pay only the minimum credit card payment.
This is more about money management than things getting too expensive. With this in mind, 2 Educators, Paul Vasey and Bill Morris joined together to tackle the problem of money mismanagement and financial illiteracy at the Grass Roots level resulting in CashCrunch101being born.
CashCrunch 101 is a Free online game that focuses on Income, Expenses, Budgets and Decision making. The focus is on the player making smarter and better-informed decisions when dealing with money. Money is used in everyday life and it makes sense that people are aware of the ramifications of their actions when deciding how to use it. You can either work for it and never seem to get ahead, or it can work for you through more informed choices and decisions.
In the game, the Net Worth of the player needs to grow, objectives need to be completed, checking account levels need to be watched, income needs to be earned and spending needs to be controlled. This is everyday life in a game. Learning in this environment allows the player to make the mistakes in the virtual world and start over. Unfortunately in the real world, it is not so forgiving.
CashCrunch101 is FREE for all to use and can be accessed through www.cashcrunchgames.com and can be played on an iPad, Android tablet and a web based version for computers and tablets.
The game has been piloted in a number of Educational establishments and homes with lots of positive feedback.
“We invite and welcome everyone to visit us at www.cashcrunchgames.com. We think visitors will love the game and respect our dedication and passion for youth financial literacy.”
