Wells of Life: Donation of 11 Wells from Drop in the Bucket

LAGUNA BEACH, CA (PRBuzz.com) May 2, 2012 -- Wells of Life, a non-profit organization that works under the supervision of Fields of Life, USA, is dedicated to drilling water wells in East African communities, has graciously accepted a donation from Drop in The Bucket to drill 11 (eleven) wells.

Wells of Life co-founder, Nicholas Jordan, has had the great opportunity to join up with Drop in The Bucket to help drill the much needed water wells in East Africa. After speaking with John Travis of Drop in The Bucket, Mr. Travis saw the value of our organization, as his organization is also one that helps bring water to those in need in Africa, and has graciously offered to help with the drilling of 11 more wells. These wells will be completed in 2012. Along with the wells drilled at the beginning of 2011 that will make a total of 16 wells that Drop in The Bucket has graciously arranged for. That's one well more than originally promised to Wells of Life in January of 2011. A HUGE thanks to Drop in The Bucket and their fearless leader - John Travis.

To drill a well in Africa costs Wells of Life only $5,000.00 (as of January 1, 2012) and changes the lives of up to 1,000 people. Eleven (11) wells will change the lives of women & children in 11 different communities. Life in a community without a water well requires the women & children of the community to walk up to 3 miles a day, carrying approximately 44lbs. of water to raise their families. Therefore, most children, mostly female, could not attend school. Having a water well in the community allowed the women to start micro enterprises and to allow the children to go to school. Not only is it beneficial for education purposes, but it also provides clean water to all as unsafe water causes 70% of East African hospital visits.
