Dr. Bradley Kurgis and his staff will be continuing their Halloween tradition this year, as they have announced that they will again be sponsoring the Templeton Haunted House.
Kurgis and his staff sponsor this event that benefits the Templeton Recreation Foundation and the Templeton Fire Department with the goal of raising enough funds for a new community gymnasium and for the cost of firefighter training. "Any time you get an opportunity to give back to the community, it's incredibly worthwhile. We enjoy doing this each year, and we always have a lot of fun," said Kurgis.
The Templeton Haunted House will open on October 18, and will run all the way through Halloween. A new feature called the "Vortex of Doom" has been added to the house with the hopes that more visitors will attend this year's new and improved version.
Kurgis has said that his staff will be found inside the house, fully dressed in costume to scare all of the attendees. He noted that the house is designed so that it is scary enough to give parents a thrill while not terrifying the children that accompany them, saying, "I think they strike a nice balance so that the house is appropriate for visitors of all ages. We certainly do this with the entertainment of the kids in mind, but we also want everyone to enjoy themselves. I think the haunted house will accomplish that."
The Templeton Haunted House is appropriate for everyone 12 years of age and older. The house itself is located in a historic home that has its windows boarded up and has not been lived in for many years. The cost of the house is $10 per person, but there are discounts available for families of four or more. "My staff and I love this time of year," began Kurgis, who was clearly excited to again participate in the haunted house. It's a great community event in support of a great cause. We hope that we get to scare a lot of people again this year. The house is going to look fantastic and there are going to be surprises at every turn.
