Galaxy Glow in the Dark Stars Perfect Purchase For Seeing A Potentially Hazardous Asteroid!

Galaxy Glow Stars is a new toy company founded in 2016 by a husband and wife team. They both loved the simple vintage glow in the dark stars they enjoyed as children but wanted to add a little bit of astronomy to the mix. They added a visually stimulating constellation guide that is an excellent way to introduce astronomy and science to kids of all ages.

Asteroid 2014 JO25 will be making a close approach to Earth on April 19th. Because of its size and proximity, it will be bright enough to spot in a small, backyard telescope and moving fast enough to see in real time. Closest approach occurs around 12 UT (7 a.m. CDT) April 19th when it zips by at 1.8 million km (fewer than 1.1 million miles) away, or about four times the distance to the Moon. When darkness falls in Europe and Africa that evening, the asteroid will shine at its peak magnitude of +10.7 along the Ursa Minor–Draco border. Several hours later, North American observers can catch it rolling west across Coma Berenices a hair fainter, between magnitude +10.8 and +11.0.

Parents and teachers can use this celestial event as an educational activity. Grab the accompanying constellation guide and see how many stars you can spot in the night sky. Afterwards re-create those including the constellation Ursa Minor in the bedroom or the the classroom.

Galaxy glow in the dark stars come in a cute little box and has a perfect price point that hits below fifteen dollars. It includes a constellation guide and storage bag for the stars. A perfect educational and fun gift for a birthday or to use for learning. These glow in the dark stars also make an excellent bedroom décor idea!
