January 12, 2010 -- Front Gate Tickets today announced that it has re-launched its ticketing portal with an updated look and enhanced functionality. The site, located at www.frontgatetickets.com, provides visitors an easier way to discover events and buy tickets for Front Gate ticketed shows. The website will also set the stage in early 2010 for both a front-end refresh of its client ticketing sites and integration with third party marketing and communication tools (i.e. Facebook, Twitter) that provide ticket buyers with a more social shopping experience.
“We made a conscious decision over the past few years to build a powerful ticketing platform capable of handling heavy volume on-sales,” says Front Gate’s Director of Technology, David Avery. “While we will continue to evolve the core functionality of the software, we recognize that front-end improvements were long overdue.”
Some of the new portal functionality about which Avery speaks includes the geo-location of each user to provide dynamic delivery of content based on where in the U.S. a user originates. Accordingly, shoppers will see shows that are most relevant to them but have the option to search for shows in any metro area or on a national level. Other new features to Front Gate’s portal include more promotional space for events and enhanced filtering of events by date, artist, venue, event type/category, music genre, and more. In 2010, look for Front Gate to launch its mobile ticketing application and provide promoters the ability to automate event marketing to social networks, their own websites, and other relevant properties.
