Those families and are usually facing an urgent financial crisis with rent/mortgage, utilities or prescription medications, Side by Side may be able to help temporarily, as well as refer to other community resources currently available. The charity meets applicants monthly at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 715 Wisconsin St., Lake Geneva.
“Visitors planning a trip to Lake Geneva might not be familiar with Side by Side. We want to make sure they know how critical the agency is to the community, how great the need is, and how winning the check can help Side by Side budget for a growing need in our area,” says Diane Kennedy Nopenz, an adviser with Thrivent Financial and volunteer with Side by Side. “Just be sure to ask for a ballot after the meal and show Side by Side some love."
