The Stylists at Gramercy Salon Dedicate their Creativity to Protecting the Everglades

Boca Raton, FL- April 11th, 2017- When the hairstylists were asked by their salon owner, Kristin Nelson, what they thought they could do to help the environment in honor of Earth Day coming up on April 22nd, the stylists wanted to come up with a way that showed off their creativity and raised awareness to support our South Florida natural resources.  The team decided to use their creative talents to work for the Everglades Foundation.

The Everglades Foundation protects South Florida’s main clean water source by keeping the Everglades eco-system in tact, protecting it from development and reversing damage to the habitat.  The organization’s focus is on the unique challenges facing the Everglades so that it will be sustainable for its wildlife, as well as keeping our environment balanced and clean for future generations.

“Being socially and environmentally aware of our relationship to the world around us is part of the salon’s culture, so I am really proud of how our team has worked together to come up with ways to show how unique we are and how much we care about the protecting our water”, said Nelson.

To raise funds and awareness, the stylists at Gramercy Salon are making a video sharing their ideas on how to support the efforts and sharing them on Youtube and their other social media channels.  In addition, three team members, Casey Callahan, Peyton Faires and Coley Glick make handcrafted artwork donating 40% of their sales to the Everglades Foundation.  Their pieces include paintings, jewelry using precious stones and crystals and Mala bracelets using beadwork with healing properties.  All are on display at Gramercy Salon in Mizner Park
