Outskirts Press Announces the Release of The Harvard Square Mob, New Fiction by Dr. Neil Mahoney

August 1, 2017 – Denver, CO, and Boston, MA – Outskirts Press—the fastest-growing full-service self-publishing and book marketing company—is pleased to announce the release of The Harvard Square Mob by Neil Mahoney. The book takes place in a time of chaos; people were protesting the Vietnam War and questioning the government’s motives, resulting in a time of upheaval and unrest much like today’s political climate.

[The Harvard Square Mob] While the Vietnam War wore on, peace marchers were becoming disillusioned. The protests were larger than ever, and yet Washington was deaf to their cries. In The Harvard Square Mob, a small group of students and a professor plot a drastic move to call more attention to their protests. But a change in their intention leads to problems and provides a surprise ending…

“I remember how it all began, the coming together of all those people who would change my life so drastically, and for that matter change their own, so that none of us would ever be the same again.  I remember it most importantly because it was I who brought them together on that fall evening seven years ago.”

The Harvard Square Mob was written originally as a screenplay and was once picked up by a major studio. Dr. Mahoney rewrote it as a short novel, which sat on his desk for several years until a friend urged him to publish it. And early reviews of the novel are glowing:

“The Harvard Square Mob keeps you on the edge of your chair. Captivating, exciting and very detailed. It brings back a lot of memories of Boston, the Harvard campus, and my old neighborhood! Neil is an excellent writer, and a great storyteller.”

“The author tells us his deeply personal story as if we were sitting together. Through the loves and misadventures of Frank and his friends we get a lesson in values and self-image and what makes us happy or not. Fast-paced and exciting down to the last page, I read it in an afternoon while sipping a little Jameson and water.”

At 168 pages, The Harvard Square Mob is available online through Outskirts Press. It is also sold through Amazon and Barnes and Noble for a maximum trade discount in quantities of 10 or more, and is being aggressively promoted to appropriate markets with a focus on the fiction category.
