FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Linda Finley, Spiritual Director at The Centers for Spiritual Living, Contributes a Chapter to a Revolutionary New Book Series.

EUGENE, OREGON July 27, 2016— In the new book, Life SPARKS (Edition #1), Linda Finley shares her story of how a job interview put her life on a whole new trajectory.

In a story titled, “Get In, Sit Down, Shut Up, and Hold On,” Linda recounts the life-changing experience of embracing the twists and turns in life, and how we all need to pay more attention to all those opportunities out there that we overlook in our daily lives.

Linda says, "I remember one time hearing that opportunity does not just knock once—it is knocking twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and we are simply ‘too busy’ to notice. "

For the past twenty-three years of Linda Finley's life, she has been teaching a philosophy known as the "Science of Mind." It is part of the American denomination known as New Thought; the organization's locations are called Centers for Spiritual Living. Linda has been a minister in this faith since 1999, serving communities in Petaluma, CA and Eugene, OR. This teaching emphasizes personal empowerment, while discovering and living out individual gifts, of which Linda realizes she has been working at all of her life. Whether it was her time spent working as an eligibility worker in the Tulare County Welfare Department in the 1970s, or as an employment counselor in private agencies during the late 1970s and early 1980s, she has used her gifts and skills—and this includes work managing a wholesale hardware outlet for contractors and cabinet makers, and the years, 1984 to 1996, when she owned the Lucky Penny Pub. In all regards, her life's work has been to connect people with their gifts, and then with jobs and people that supported them in their growth.

Compiled by Tami Blodgett and Denise Beins, edited by Judy Dippel, and published by Luminare Press, Life SPARKS (Edition #1) will change the way readers look at themselves and the world around them. LifeSPARKS programs support authors by coaching them through the process of writing. Stories are published in a safe and supportive community. At the same time, contributing authors are prepared about how their story, and who they are, complements their business—which in-turn allows them to be readily known, seen and heard by a broader audience.
