In an effort to continue their philanthropic mission, The Welcome Club
of the Fox Valley invites you to join us at 6 p.m., on Saturday,
November 10 at the Eagle Brook Country Club, 2288 Fargo Blvd., Geneva, Il.,
for our annual dinner fundraiser to benefit the Fox Valley Volunteer
Hospice group.
Tickets to the annual fundraiser are $65 per person, with premium
reserved tables for 8 available for $480. This event is limited to 300
seats.
At the dinner, we will have an auction of baskets put together by our
various activity groups. A silent auction will begin at 6 p.m., and
conclude at 6:45 p.m., with a dinner, and our keynote presentation
following.
Our special keynote speaker on that evening will be Captain Denny
Fitch, a United Airlines pilot, who was on board Flight 232, when it crashed
in Sioux City , Iowa on July 19, 1989.
Fitch, who was a passenger on the flight when a malfunction occurred at
37,000 feet, assisted the crew in the cockpit, helping steer a hapless
plane with no flight controls from near-certain disaster, to an
airport in Sioux City .
Captain Fitch, whose initiation into heroism occurred while he was off
duty, uses his own incredible experiences to highlight the importance
of quick thinking, and teamwork as an essential ingredient of success.
