New South Wales, Central Coast, 5 May 2007 – Nicky Price has launched a new blog on Water Conservation Tips and Techniques. Living in Australia, the majority of the population is either living in drought stricken areas or residing where water restrictions of various levels apply. Water Conservation is something everyone can partake in to help relieve the crisis.
Experts say “on a daily basis most households have the potential to save many litres of water. Little or no effort at all is required when trying to conserve water, therefore the combination of all of us doing a little actually means we are doing a lot.”
Many water savings can be made in the bathroom and kitchen. Do not leave taps running whilst brushing teeth, reduce shower times, do not use more water in the bath than is required and leave buckets in bath to catch excess water. The water saved can be used to water the gardens and in cleaning the bathroom.
In the kitchen it is best to wash up once a day and only use dishwashers when they are entirely full. Hot water taps may run cold for a few seconds before becoming hot so do not let the cold water just run down the sink. This water can be used for washing vegetables, filling water jugs or dog water dishes,
The current water situation is in a crisis and has been for some time now. Water is a precious resource and essential for the survival of ourselves and our planet. There is much information on water conservation and recycling that can be obtained from local councils and libraries. Many water saving products are also on the market such as: slow flow shower heads, water-free car cleaning products, shower timers which are provided by your local council and rainwater tanks.

By now we are all educated enough to know there is a serious water crisis at hand. All it takes is a little research in learning what it takes to help relieve the situation.
