The answering yips of her pup, Spooky, irritate her further. She needs peace and quiet and a clear mind to deal with the tragedy that brought her to the lake. Jen rushes next door to ask the rider to gear down when he drives by. She is repulsed by his Neanderthal appearance and equally turned off by his rude behavior. Mitch Waverley’s attitude stinks as well and sends her running for cover. She soon learns she can’t even enjoy a peaceful swim because the hoodlum skinny-dips on her territory. He is scheduled to meet with the gang boss, Bull. The contact is in jeopardy when Mitch discovers his Harley’s tire is flat. He blames the witch next door. Not one to have his plans waylaid by anyone, even if she is a hotheaded babe, he makes demands certain to keep him on her list of despicable people.
