We see the partnership with the Urban Music Awards as a continuation of our strategy of targeting events that reinforces our heritage and connection to music on the back of the iconic Kick Hi boot”. For the first time ever in awards show history, The Kickers Urban Music Awards will expose fans to the insanity on and off the stage at the 2007 show via our live online broadcast of the awards ceremony as it happens via our sister station Invincible Television with millions of viewers and music fans worldwide expected to watch worldwide.

The Kickers Urban Music Awards is the 1st and only worldwide people’s choice awards ceremony. About Kickers:
The Kickers brand was founded more than 30 years ago and has always had a strong connection with the music industry. In the 70s, the trademark Kick-Hi boot caused a phenomenon when it reached London, being adopted by The Who’s Roger Daltrey and Rod Stewart among others as the shoe to be seen in.
In the 80s, it grew to be one of the main symbols of the Acid House movement and in the 90s, was picked up by the burgeoning ‘Madchester’ scene. The Farm celebrated the design with their ironic LP cover of a sheep wearing Kick-His while The Stone Roses wore theirs in the Fools Gold video, closely followed by Oasis’ Noel Gallagher and Jarvis Cocker.
Since 2000, the Kick-Hi has become the essential kit for the UK garage scene as well as having a renaissance on the feet of the new indie kids.
