The Stopping Place, an Indie Faith-based film, Premieres December 17.
Texas production promotes The Great Commandment – Love Your Neighbor.
DALLAS, TEXAS (December 12, 2007) – The Stopping Place, a faith-based independent feature, will premiere Monday, December 17 at The Angelika Film Center in Plano, Texas.
The Stopping Place, the title of the film and also the name of the story’s setting was shot
on location at the Schimelpfenig House, a restored Victorian home built in 1901 and
located in the Historical District of Plano, Texas.
The production involved more than 70 volunteers including local Christian talent with a budget under $100,000.
Sweet Picture Films and ReQuest Entertainment co-produced the film with Cory Turner
directing.
Larry ‘Jack’ Dotson and Jamie Dugger star as a retired couple who move to a small Texas town to start a ministry for displaced individuals. Drew Waters (Blonde Ambition, Major Movie Star and Mad Money) plays the role of Eddie Allen, a local Pentecostal minister, who’s initially the only supporter of the new ministry.
Scott Sutton Band, a Dallas-based Christian contemporary band, provides music as well as original score by John Schaller and songs by Christian singer/songwriter James Moore.
