New York, NY December 17, 2007 --- The Book Bank Foundation (BBF),
established by celebrity sports agent and philanthropist Glenn Toby,
is set to travel throughout the streets of New York City along with Marie "Free" Wright on Thursday December 20, 2007 to give back to thousands this holiday season. The work of The Book Bank Foundation has helped heal the souls of the homeless for more than10 years by providing brand new clothing, toiletries, books and toys to homeless shelters across the nation. Through the works and vision of one man, Glenn Toby, the Book Bank Foundation has severed thousands volunteering more than 450,000 hours of community service. This year Marie “Free” Wright, formerly of Bet's 106 and Park, who was honored at the fourth annual Book Bank Foundation’s “Hero Awards” will be joining Mr. Toby in his efforts. The “Hero Awards” celebrate those who are actively dedicated to philanthropy and improving the lives of communities affected by crisis nationwide. The Book Bank Foundation is proud to announce that The Amsterdam News, the nation's premiere African American newspaper with offices based in New York.

Glenn Toby, Free and hundreds of volunteers will begin initiatives in Queens at the Jamaica Family Residence shelter, where Mr. Toby became a hip hop legend; then efforts will move to Brooklyn’s Auburn Family Shelter, the very site Glenn was homeless as a child. Both the Jamaica Family Residence and the Auburn Family Shelter are part of the New York City Department of Homeless Services’ shelter system. Throughout the day volunteers along with Mr. Toby and Free will continue to the Bronx at the Concourse House for women. Manhattan will be the endpoint for the initiatives at The Bower Mission transitional center. In addition to the shelter visits the Book Bank Foundation will be traveling into bus stations, train stations and under bridges actively seeking out the homeless and serving them as well." After 10 years of the Book Bank Foundation’s service to the under served it is incredible to see the growth of membership, and the way that people’s unselfish passion for service has continued to grow," said Rene Napoleon, Senior Vice President of the Book Bank Foundation.
