TestCountry To Distribute 5000 Free Drug Abuse Test Kits for Consumer and School Testing

SAN DIEGO, CALIF /prbuzz/ (March 12, 2007) – TestCountry, a distributor of home-based medical test kits, will distribute 5000 FDA Cleared urine drug of abuse test kits free of charge to non profit organizations, educational institutions and schools, through its “Test to Prevent Drugs” Program. The purpose of this program is to provide greater access to drug testing kits for teenagers and adults with substance abuse problems.

According to the 2004 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, more than 11 million people have experimented with MDMA (Ecstasy), more than 11 million have tried Methamphetamine, and more than 23 million have tried LSD (Acid) at least once. Nearly 45% of U.S. teenagers try Marijuana before finishing high school. Some of the side effects of these drugs include: changes in brain function, coma and seizures, memory and learning problems, distorted perception, and difficulty thinking and solving problems.

Through the “Test to Prevent Drugs” Program, any drug abuse counselor and parent who requests participation in the program will receive 25 urine test kits or other drug of abuse tests at no cost or obligation. The drug tests can detect to up to 10 different substances simultaneously including: Amphetamines (AMP), Barbiturates (BAR), Benzodiazepines (BZO), Cocaine (COC), Methamphetamines) (mAMP), Methadona (MTD), Opiates (OPI including Heroin), Phencyclidine (PCP including angle dust), Tricyclic anti-depressants(TCA) and Marijuana (THC). The package will also include an educational paper titled “A Parents Guide to Stop Teenage Drug Use”. This guide was specifically designed by TestCountry to assist parents to learn about drug prevention among kids and teenagers.

Some organizations that have already benefited from the donations include the San Diego Youth and Community Services, Teen Challenge International, Volunteers of America/ Alcohol & Drug Services Center as well as many others.
