Flagstaff, AZ - Presented by the Artists' Coalition of Flagstaff, Flagstaff Open Studios is a rare, behind the scenes peek into the artistic process.
September 15 - 16 marks the 10th anniversary of the self-guided studio tour, which spotlights a wide variety of art media, the chance to meet the local artists and discover emerging talent in the refreshing mountain air. The event is free and open to the public.
All studios are open from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., with a select number of "after hours" artists staying open until 7 p.m. Approximately 100 painters, sculptors, ceramicists, iron-forgers, glass blowers, jewelers, photographers, stained glass makers, weavers will participate in the tour. There will also be hands-on art projects for children.
Get an early taste of Flagstaff Open Studios, starting August 18 at Appetizers for the Visual Feast. The CoconinoCenter for the Arts will have select works from featured Open Studios artists on display through September 16. The Coconino Center for the Arts is located just north of Flagstaff's historic downtown district at 2300 N. Fort Valley Road.
Studio tour maps are available the Flagstaff Visitor Center, select Flagstaff art galleries and online at www.flagstaffarts.org.
