Take Your Diversity Initiative to the Next Level with Help From Dallas-Based Firm
Dallas, TX, December 27, 2007: Most organizations have a basic diversity strategy but are not sure how to take it to the next level. And what can you do to help employees apply diversity awareness to their daily work life? Two new programs offered by Diversity Trends LLC help resolve those issues. Both programs feature a unique combination of teleseminars, group coaching, peer mentoring and individual feedback.

You can send employees to diversity awareness training, but then what? According to Tracy Brown, President of Diversity Trends, “So many of our clients needed a way to provide guidance and encouragement to employees who wanted to become champions for diversity and inclusion that we started offering a variety of coaching programs and teleseminars.” Those efforts led to a new program that begins January 15 titled, “Walk Your Talk! The Diversity Champion Challenge.” The program includes 9 sessions over a 90-day period.

Brown said, “Walk Your Talk is designed to challenge individuals to take personal responsibility in ways that can improve communication, teamwork and customer service. It’s perfect for members of Diversity Councils as well as staff working on diversity or human resources issues.” The group conference calls will include both educational information and structured group coaching, assignments designed to help participants apply core concepts in their own life, plus individual feedback is available via email for answers to specific questions.

When asked why she chose this format instead of a one-day seminar, Brown replied, "Real change and growth happen over time. This format allows participants to try things out between sessions and to get reinforcement along the way." She also said, "This program has the advantage of people being able to dial in and participate from wherever they are without having to give up a full day or half day at one time. Most of our clients really appreciate that!"

The other new program being offered by Diversity Trends LLC begins January 22, 2008. It is designed to help organizations develop a new diversity strategy, or to take their existing diversity strategy to the next level. “Creating, or updating, a diversity strategy can be tedious and it is easy to let other things take priority. This program is structured to keep you on track and make it easy to complete or revise your strategy in less than four months.” said Brown.

The program, “120 Days to an Effective Diversity Strategy” used the “Diversity Strategy Made Easy™” approach Brown applies when her firm is hired to complete a diversity strategy for an organization. She will lead participants through a process that insures key messages and key stakeholders are involved in identifying priorities, goals and action plans.

For less than a thousand dollars organizations can receive expert guidance and have an updated strategy by the end of spring. “We realized some of our clients didn’t have the budget to bring us in to do the research, interview key leaders, write the draft and develop buy-in for their strategic positioning of diversity. So we designed this process as a compromise.” said Brown. “We can guide them step-by-step through each phase of the process and give them feedback along the way.” she continued.
