FOR IMMEDAITE RELEASE 10/21/07 Traverse City, MI
Soul Sailing on the East Coast
Oct 23, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ --Dr. Jay Littell will be signing copies of his newly published book, Soul Sailing, at Lambda Rising Bookstore in Washington DC on Tuesday, October 30th, from 7 to 9 PM. In addtition, he will be offering a mini-workshop entitled, Speedos, Cheney, and War at Lambda Rising in Rehoboth Beach Delaware on November 10th from 5-8. The theme is commonalities. Dr. Jay—the name given by Reid Baer, who reviewed Soul Sailing on the website www.menstuff.org--focuses on concepts through commonalities and illustrates how Life Missions and Looking Glasses can reveal limitations in our perspectives of ourselves and the world at large. Dr. Jay illustrates how our way of seeing things—our vision and life histories--can be investigated to reveal more a realistic understanding, and constructive direction for the voyage of our lives. Dr. Jay believes that every story shared with a sense of awareness, honesty, and responsibility relates something about where our souls need to heal. Each chapter of Soul Sailing is filled with tools, questions, and exercises to help readers write their own stories. Littell fills his book with optimistically-affirming, sometimes painful stories from people of all ages, connecting himself to the reader in a way that illustrates the extent to which we remain influenced by past stages of our lives. The book is filled with inspirational quotes from an incredible variety of sources, including many of the world’s great books, that illustrate how stories connect us with the past, heal us in the present, and give us hope for the future. A graduate of UC Riverside and Harvard University, Dr. Jay has a genetic passion for stories that goes back to his grandfather, an ordained minister, who ran the Blue Stone Institute for former slaves, as well as his uncle, Normal Littell, (another Harvard graduate) who became assistant attorney general to President Franklin Roosevelt, and an outspoken anti-trust, anti-Nazi advocate. Dr. Jay’s book, Soul Sailing, is available through Lambda Rising, Amazon.com, Border’s Books, and @ www.tellingyourstories.com
