A one-day seminar: The Transformation & Renewal of the Chinese House Churches will be held in William Carey International University's auditorium (1530 E. Howard St.), Pasadena, California on Saturday, May 20, 2006 to update the progress of the house churches in China in the last 10 years. Many Chinese church leaders and well known scholars will present paper and forums in the seminar.

The Chinese Christians now number about 3-6% of total population of China (between 50 to 80 millions) as a result of the phenomenal growth since 1950. CMI and Dr. Jonathan Chao was part of the miraculous expansion of the house churches in China. A few Chinese leaders who are intimately working in the current transformation and renewal will report the dangeropportunities ( Chinese) situations. Some will discuss how certain growth is related to Dr. Jonathan Chao and CMI's three-fold vision (Evangelization of the Chinese; Kingdomization of the Church; & Christianization of the Culture) in the past, and more importantly for the future as China leaps from the closed, and traditional society which is breaking, to the open global consumerism culture.

Since experts including Aikman suggest that Christianity is one of the best non-violent and ultimate means to bring about global peace and cultural changes, anyone concerns about world peace should attend this seminar to gain understanding of the Chinese church today.
