Self-Published Book Hits the Front Page of 3-million-hits Website and Grabs Distributor!

Dr. Jay Littell, Ph.D, with an expertise in political science, with an interesting article on the Spiritual Bankruptcy of America, will be the featured author on the lead page of MenStuff.org in September, a website that gets over 100,000 hits a day, inspiring both men and women to live in a spirit of cooperation between all mankind. In a wonderful review by Reid Baer, entitled “Getting to Know Dr. Jay,” Baer says, “Far too many self-help books, for me, are without charm. So, when I discovered his Soul Sailing: How Life-Stories Can Transform the Voyage, I knew I’d found something that hit the sweet spot…it’s fun! It’s scintillating!..a treasure-trove of material...to more clearly see [your] life mission. Baer was so moved when he reviewed the book that he refined and embraced his own life mission, “to bring joy into the world through my bold creativity.”

What more could an author ask for? Self-publishing is not for the light at heart, but this week not only landed a rave review, but a distributor that turned their decision around based on the publicity and interest being generated. Soul Sailing is an interactive workbook that guides the reader to record his or her personal life stories and journey toward an awareness of the power personal life stories have. “When we tell our stories with awareness, honesty, and a sense of responsibility, we more frequently connect to our soul,” says Dr. Jay. A new marketing program for the book is SupperWhere? Gatherings™, bringing people together one supper at a time with a evening based on stories.

Dr. Jay, a graduate of UC-Riverside and Harvard, has a genetic passion for stories. It started with his grandfather, an ordained pastor, who ran the Blue Stone Institute, the largest school for freed African-Americans. “It was my privilege to spend two years of my life clearing away the rubbish which had been piled upon the minds and souls of those who had been denied by law the right to read and think for themselves.” Later, his uncle, Norman Littell, a Rhodes Scholar in England, graduated from Harvard Law School, and in 1939 accepted President Roosevelt’s offer to become an assistant,, attorney general, becoming especially vocal about anti-trust and anti-Nazi business affairs.

Dr. Jay’s book, Soul Sailing is available through Partners Distributors, Leland Books.
