Scott M. Huelsman Releases Wizard Reborn Novel through Web and Lulu.com

WAUNAKEE, WI -- Apr 27, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ -- Scott M. Huelsman, a professional web developer and author, has rebuilt his original fantasy adventure novel Wizard Reborn for web delivery at www.wizardreborn.com. A paperback version of the novel is also available for purchase through Lulu at http://www.lulu.com/content/727454.

Wizard Reborn is the story of a young would-be hero named Redfern who aspires to do great things with his life, set within the fantasy world of Mairiga. He is eventually given a great quest to save his homeland and way of life, but Redfern also harbors a dark secret, one that threatens to destroy him and plunge all of Mairiga into a second Age of Damnation. While the genre of the novel is fantasy adventure, Wizard Reborn also addresses a multitude of contemporary issues, pointing-out that without genuine honor, compassion and enlightenment, even the most noble of intentions can do more harm than good.

Originally written in 1994, the novel was soon turned into a “MediaNovel” by adding relevant (and all-original) graphics, music, audio and video to the text. Over one-thousand illustrations were developed by Steve Wirtz of Fond du Lac, WI (www.cartuna.net), several dozen actors were assembled to do the audio and video, and a motion picture-quality musical score was developed by Merek Royce Press of New York City (www.musicnyc.com). The original MediaNovel was distributed on CD-ROM in 1997, but the marketing effort was not successful and the content had gone dormant for nearly ten years.

In the fall of 2006, Mr. Huelsman decided to resurrect the novel and bring it to the Internet as well as release it in paperback form. This effort began with a re-write of the novel itself, a full 100,000+ word manuscript, followed by a rebuilding of every illustration associated with the online version. The background music still accompanies the online version, but the various audio and video clips have been removed (although the original web version is still available online for those who wish to view it). The hardcopy paperback version was completed recently and is now available exclusively through Lulu.com for $14.95.

The online version of Wizard Reborn has been broken down into 795 “pages” spanning 15 complete chapters. Each page consists of a few paragraphs of text (roughly a third of a traditional novel page), and includes a relevant illustration and background music clip. And for those who don’t have the time to read through the entire novel online, a music-based slideshow is also provided, telling the story through text and illustrations across 14 audio music tracks.
