Samaritan Breast Cancer Diagnostic |
Jan 04, 2008 -- /prbuzz/ --Samaritan Pharmaceuticals Inc. (AMEX:LIV), a developer of innovative drugs, announced today it has received a notice that the United States patent, Title: Peripheral-Type Benzodiazepine Receptor: A tool for detection, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of cancer was formally allowed on April 9, 2007. U.S. Patent Application Serial Number: 09/047,652.
Samaritan's diagnostic kit is comprised of antibodies against PBR suitable for use in detecting the presence of an aggressive breast cancer tumor. This patent's claims are related to a biopsy test. Samaritan has also filed another application for a blood test against the same marker.
The patent has been awarded to Georgetown University and is exclusively licensed to Samaritan.
