SAM CAM RELEASES IP CAMERA WITH BUILT IN SPEAKERS AND MICROPHONE FOR SCHOOLS SECURITY MONITORING
IP CAMERA TAKES IT TO ANOTHER LEVEL MONITORING SCHOOL SAFETY

June 5, 2007: San Diego, CA: SAM CAM, a division of AgeSpan LLC, unveiled their latest IP Camera solution this week in an effort to upgrade current security monitoring solutions into next generation technology for industries such as Universities and Schools, Human and Pet Food Processing, Airports, Parking Lots, and many others that can utilize two-way communication from a remote location. Teamed with their camera OEM’s newly released IP Camera, SAMCAM takes advantage of the hardware’s built-in audio voice and recording capability so that a remote operator can take a proactive approach when seeing the potential for an incident by directly speaking through their existing IT infrastructure to the speaker that is connected to the camera. Additionally, a person can speak back via the camera’s omni-directional microphone for real-time two-way communication. Craig German, a SAM CAM representative, said: “Other hardware exists that perform this type of operation but it consists of many new pieces of hardware that have to seamlessly work together. This new solution reduces the amount of hardware, uses existing network infrastructure, which in turn increases the reliability of the system and lowers the overall costs since you don’t have to perform routine maintenance and you have less equipment to worry about.”

Brad Andre, another SAM CAM representative, said: “This setup would be very beneficial to large campuses if a security incident did occur, such as the one recently at Virginia Tech, students could be directed to a safe location by someone remotely. And imagine a scenario in a meat packing plant where the operator sees a dangerous situation about to occur, they could alert the operator of the impending danger.”

Craig German goes on to say: “Additionally, with less hardware, the end-user has a smaller footprint for their security monitoring design, which means faster installation times and fewer things to go wrong with the system. Less hardware coupled with the camera’s lifetime warranty equates to lower total ownership costs which many IT departments are keen on these days. In summary, smaller footprints, less costs, increased reliability, and reduced maintainability will greatly ease the IT decision makers when upgrading their current system or if they are looking for the latest technology to deploy.”
