Ron Paul Publicly Challenged to Denounce Racism
Political Analyst Earl Ofari Hutchinson Calls for a Public Declaration from Paul

CNN recently reported that GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul made racially offensive quips about blacks and gays in his Ron Paul Political Report The newsletters, written in the 1990s, says political analyst, Earl Ofari Hutchinson, are damning enough, and if any of the racist stuff in them is true, that instantly disqualifies Paul as fit to run for any national office. But an outraged Paul vehemently denies that he said or wrote any of those things and that its just a smear tactic against his campaign.
Hutchinson publicly challenges Paul to prove that he didn't say or mean any of the racial jibes in the newsletters. Hutchinson calls on him to issue a clear and direct public statement, and that's not an off the cuff denial in a CNN interview, or on any other broadcast network, that says I fully support all civil rights laws, will work hard against racial and gender profiling, and will push government economic support initiatives to boost minorities and the poor. That's Hutchinson’s challenge to Paul.

Earl Ofari Hutchinson is an author and political analyst. His forthcoming book is The Ethnic Presidency: How Race Decides the Race to the White House (Middle Passage Press, February, 2008).
