2007-03-10 /prbuzz/ -- There is a new sheriff in town. But instead of carrying a gun, he has a Digital SLR camera. His name is Johnny D (John DiAraneo) and he is the owner and lead photographer of www.NJClubPics.com I have been a Nightclub Promoter for over 15 years. Recently, while attending a meeting with a Nightclub owner, I witnessed an individual standing high upon a speaker taking photographs of club patrons in action. I have seen similar situations before but there was something different about this. Instead of looks of curiosity from the patrons, and hiding behind a hand... people were welcoming the flash as if they just saw a celebrity. Then the MC announced his presence as if he was in the same. Johnny D has been mentioned on countless radio stations and has many friends in the entertainment business. I later confirmed that he does in fact know more celeb's than he admits to. Very modest. I watched this photographer run from strategic positions throughout the club, shooting pictures as if he were a marine on the front lines. I asked the Owner what the Photographer's name was and requested an interview with him. I asked Johnny D what makes his company differ from the others. With a big smile he simply stated, "It's my style and it’s my passion!" I decided to question a few patrons after they were photographed. Every response was almost the same, "His pictures are awesome and we get to see ourselves online within 48 hours." I arrived at my office the following morning and within minutes I was on www.NJClubPics.com I needed to see what everyone was ranting about. As an amateur photographer, I know that taking photo's in an atmosphere with constant change in lighting is very difficult. But just like they said, his pictures were "awesome". It seemed as if every picture was edited and they were crisp in resolution. Then to my surprise I saw a picture of myself. When? How? I was nowhere near the dance floor but this picture looked as if I were standing right in front of him. How he took this shot from across the room and remained so clear is beyond me. Nevertheless, he did and I had no complaints. I emailed Johnny D and thanked him for the picture. I asked him, "If there are no membership or photo fees, how do you make any money?" He responded, "I have sponsors that believe in me. Whether it be club owners, radio stations, promoters, etc... they know my work is good and will attract business. I don't take advantage of anyone. Money isn't everything! I get alot of practice in Nightclubs which bring higher demands for my professional photo shoots." The demand for his photo's is very evident. I have viewed well over 300 myspace pages that contain photo's by NJClubPics. This author recommends to anyone in the entertainment or nightlife business to utilize NJClubPics and include them in your Marketing plans. 9 out of 10 times when a patron visits www.NJClubPics.com to view their photo, they will also click to view photos from other NightClubs. |
