London, UK, October 3rd 2007 – Stage and Screen Online is where the biggest names in musical theatre and film music come to talk; the home of intelligent, informed interviews and exclusive articles. No trivial nonsense, no promo fluff. Just big names, big talk.

Stage and Screen Online is hosted by former BBC Radio hosts, Tommy Pearson and Edward Seckerson, leading authorities in film music and musical theatre. The site features audio interviews with some of the best-known names in each genre, filling a gap between trivial promos and intense fandom. Every week a new set of interviews will be available, either to listen online or to download, supported by useful links and opportunities to buy products related to the interviewees.

Launch interviews include composer Michael Nyman (The Piano, Draughtsman’s Contract), Laura Michelle Kelly (Lord of the Rings The Musical, Sweeney Todd movie), film composer Patrick Doyle (Gosford Park, Carlito’s Way, Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire), Hollywood composer David Newman (Ice Age, Galaxy Quest, Bowfinger), film and TV composer Debbie Wiseman (Wilde, Jekyll, Judge John Deed) and multi-award winning West End and Broadway stars Maria Friedman and Daniel Evans.

Future interviews include film composers Harry Gregson-Williams, Gabriel Yared, Mychael Danna and Anne Dudley and musical theatre legends Stephen Sondheim, Michael Ball and Jerry Herman.

Tommy Pearson, creator and host of Stage and Screen Online, says “Fans of musical theatre and film music having been crying out for this kind of content for years. There is a huge amount of information out there but no-one is offering this kind of quality audio interview. We aim to produce in-depth interviews with performers, composers lyricists, producers and directors, exploring their work and careers, which can be of interest to fans of all kinds of music.”

Also on the site, Stage Door features exclusive articles on musical theatre in London and New York, as well as blogs and special features. And The Click Track has a film music blog and features by leading music commentators.
