New Website Offering Free Memorials for Limited Time
(And Innovative Way to Help Grieving Pet Owners)

Bucyrus, Ohio - October 17, 2007

A new online memorial community, dedicated to sharing and preserving the wonderful memories of pets, is offering free memorial pages for a limited time as part of their launching celebration.

October 5, 2007, Ourfamilycompanion.com officially went live and like most, it features a variety of options for easily creating memorials. Pet owners can add stories, graphical backgrounds and photographs. They can create a photo gallery and slideshow, and then send special e-cards inviting friends to view their pet’s memorial pages. People can also share in the grieving and healing process of losing a pet with others through our grief forum.

“When a pet dies, its owner seeks comfort, support,” said Moira Allen, M.Ed., owner of www.pet-loss.net and award-winning author of ‘Coping with Sorrow on the Loss of Your Pet’.

“Support you (ourfamilycompanion.com) are uniquely able to provide, perhaps by helping the owner provide for the pet's final passage with dignity, or by offering a way to immortalize that beloved pet's memory with a special tribute or remembrance.”

But what really makes this site different than other memorial sites is that it’s the only place on the web where you can turn your online memorial into a permanent DVD keepsake that is professionally produced, packaged in a personalized DVD case and shipped to your door.

The creation process is a breeze for any user and allows for customization. The website’s design team implemented an easy-to-use, interactive platform which lets people upload all their favorite photos to the website. They can then arrange them in any order, select background music from the library and even add heartfelt messages to be integrated into their video. Users have the ability to personalize their DVD further, by picking the design of their case cover and adding a story about their family companion on it.

And unlike photo books that tend to sit on a shelf with pictures that fade over time, these keepsakes let pet owners vividly relive all the cherished moments of days gone by, simply by popping it in any DVD player.

In an email response from dogtimemedia.com, Byron Mignanelli, director, Media Network, stated that the new website and its services are “very cool.”

The owners of ourfamilycompanion.com are excited about the launching of their site.

“We are (and have been for 17 years) a family of pet lovers and rescuers,” said Pamela Dawson, owner. “So we understand what it’s like to lose a pet, that’s why we believe pets should be remembered for all the unconditional love and companionship they bring to our lives.”

Dawson added that they have been creating memorial videos for local funeral homes for quite some time and being able to offer the same sort of comfort and healing for pet lovers everywhere means a lot to them.

The very first pet memorial DVD the Dawson’s company made was for Vicki Ruttmann of central Ohio. Her husband and her had to put down one their dogs, Spanky, due to old age and mounting health issues.

“What they did for us has been very healing,” said Ruttmann. “We loved that dog so much and to be able to see him in color on our big screen TV is... just heartwarming.”
