New funky Medical ID bracelets that kids will want to wear all the time
Mar 26, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ -- There has been an increase in the number of adults and children who have been diagnosed with diabetes, epilepsy and allergies. So it is important for both parents and adults to alert others about their condition, especially in cases of emergency. But the problem is, many people who suffer these conditions don’t wear any medical identification for their ailment. This causes many problems for ambulance and emergency room staff, who only have moments to determine patient treatments, especially if the patient cannot communicate with staff. Anyone suffering from any chronic illness or allergies can reduce the risk of incorrect treatment when they are treated by emergency staff. Even though medical ID has been proven to save peoples’ lives, there are many reasons why both adults and children won’t wear any identification. Lee-Anne Kerr and Nicole Braidwood, co-founders of ID4U Designs found the medical ID bracelets that were available, were chunky and unattractive, and most people didn’t want to be “branded” with their ailment. Lee-Anne Kerr goes on to say, “When our young children where diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes a few years ago, we wanted to make sure that in an emergency they were identified as having diabetes. But when we went to purchase some bracelets for our children, they were large, chunky, unattractive and just so ugly.” “Our young children have little wrists and didn’t like the feel of these large bracelets, so Nicole and I decided to design our own range of bracelets that were easier to wear, sturdy, funky, modern, but very durable.” “Up to three lines of personal identification and medical information can be engraved on the blank plates of our ID bracelets, making them ideal for allergy sufferers and those with a medical condition. Diabetes Australia Queensland asked us to create a specific ID plate for diabetics, and these can include two extra lines of information,” Mrs Braidwood outlines. ID4U Designs’ medical ID bracelets are individually designed for their wearers, and they are backed by a 6 month parts and manufacture guarantee. These are fun and funky designs, which kids and teens will want to wear all the time.
