Moving Fashion Week to Downtown LA |

November 08, 2007 |
Nov 09, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ --Los Angeles-based event management company, Barcelona Enterprises, is leading the charge for the future of the event, which will be moving from its previous location in time for next year's spring collections. The event will be undergoing a complete transformation and the new venue appears to be Oasis Locations, which was purposely selected because it specifically addresses the drawbacks faced by the former site.
Though the decision is not yet final, all parties concerned are enthusiastic about the new venue and it appears that the deal is all but closed. The pending move to Oasis Locations provides a great opportunity to breathe new life into the event, as organizers will be faced with planning from the ground up. The Oasis lends itself perfectly to such a function, boasting a central catwalk set-up, specific areas for press and entertainment facilities, as well as rooftop allowances for marquees and special events.
The key issues to be addressed by organizers will be improvements in environmental impact, accessibility for guests and staff and the incorporation of the surrounding fashion and business community, which now lies on the event's doorstep. One thing is for certain, next year's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will be the most anticipated fashion event in the country with all eyes fixed on what the new location has to offer.
