Mortgage Professional Earns Reverse Mortgage Specialist Designation (RMS)

Todd Garrett, Mortgage Planner in Orange County, CA, has completed training at the 1st Metropolitan Mortgage National Reverse Mortgage Center in Orlando, Florida to earn the Reverse Mortgage Specialist (RMS) designation. The program covered regulatory compliance issues, processing, underwriting, and best business practices for originating the 8 types of reverse mortgages offered by 1st Metropolitan Mortgage. Los Angeles and Orange County, California are the 2nd and 3rd most active areas for reverse mortgages handled by FHA.

Todd Garrett is listed on the National Reverse Mortgage Lenders Association (NRMLA) website (www.reversemortgage.org). As a NRMLA member, Mr. Garrett joins an elite group of individuals who are dedicated to helping America's seniors fulfill their retirement dreams. Todd may also act as an instructor to financial services professionals on how to use a reverse mortgage as a wealth management and financial planning tool. For example, the National Council on Aging recommends using a reverse mortgage to fund long term care to enable seniors to “age in place” in their homes.
