Hip pregnancy fashion line MollyAnna has recently announced a new partnership with CARE to help fight the root causes of world poverty.

For every maternity shirt sold on their site, MollyAnna will donate $1 to CARE, a non-profit organization dedicated to poverty-fighting efforts worldwide. According to their website, CARE dedicates more than 90 percent of expended resources to support projects and less than 10 percent toward administrative and fund-raising costs, making it one of the most efficient philanthropic organizations in the world.

CARE’s approach focuses on working with poor women who are empowered to participate in improving education, preventing the spread of HIV, increasing access to water and sanitation, expanding economic opportunity and protecting natural resources. By giving women tools to help themselves and their communities, CARE helps empoverished populations reach self-reliance.

MollyAnna is well-known for humorous and sometimes controversial maternity tees and tanks but has also recently taken a green approach to maternity style. Their soon-to-be launched 100% certified organic Supima cotton line will sport new slogans, new shades and luxuriously soft organic and environmentally sustainable fabric.

The new certified organic line will be available shortly, featuring Mary Hadley, winner of “The New Face of MollyAnna” model search contest which took place in May. MollyAnna’s unconventional model search reached out to real expecting moms for a chance to become the fresh new face of the company.
