March is National Nutrition Month:

Poll Suggests Fatigue Not Just Related to a Poor Night's Sleep, but also to What You Eat.

March 5, 2007 Deerfield Beach, FL -- Cell Science Systems providers of the Alcat™ test for food and chemical sensitivity, recently reported significant results from a 100 patient survey that indicates an 80% improvement for the alleviation of fatigue and IBS after patients implemented dietary changes indicated by results of the ALCAT food panel test.

In addition, over 70 percent of the respondents reported positive improvement for symptoms related to skin disorders (eg. hives, acne); acid reflux (75%); and sinus issues. Other significant symptomatic improvements were reported for Asthma (66%); Headaches (60%); and arthritis (56%).

“This is particularly significant when one considers that these conditions impact an estimated 75 - 90% of the population; costing billions in treatments, lost income due to missing work and absenteeism from school,” said Roger Davis Deutsch, founder and CEO of Cell Science Systems. “Nutritional implications continue to go under recognized for their vast implications on our health and longevity,” added Deutsch also the author of “Your Hidden Food Allergies are Making You Fat: How to Lose Pounds and Gain Years of Vitality”.

Former US Surgeon General, C. Everett Koop, regards obesity as the number 2 cause of death in America. Obesity substantially increases the risk of heart disease, osteoarthritis, diabetes, certain cancers and other disorders.

Deutsch and other members of the ALCAT lab suggest that patients need to remember that food sensitivities are not life-threatening, but left untreated can lead to more serious illness pose greater risks. “Preventative care is paramount to long term care,” said Deutsch. “Toward this end, we intend to bring these results to the attention of the health care industry and to consumers who need to consider current options for modifying their diets in order to experience better health and increased feelings of wellness.”

Satisfied that the results are a true reflection of the general public’s knowledge, the Poll answered on a voluntary basis, was designed to help educate and support people suffering from nutritional-related effects or seeking information.
