Magnify.net CEO Steve Rosenbaum Predicts that 2008 Will Be the Year of Nano-Networks
CES 2008, LAS VEGAS -- Jan. 5, 2007 -- Steve Rosenbaum, CEO of Magnify.net, a peer-driven online video discovery and broadcast channel for websites, groups and businesses, is predicting that the big story in 2008 will be the emergence of Nano-Networks.

Rosenbaum is also speaking at Digital Hollywood on January 8th at 10:30 a.m. on the Personalized Media Platforms panel (Session C – DH7), which will examine Widgets, User Generated Media, Personalized News, Blogs and PodCasts. More info here: http://tinyurl.com/25heng .

Rosenbaum asserts, “Before, there were two worlds, creators and consumers; but that paradigm is gone. Now, consumers create content, share media, and are powering the rapid growth of web properties that facilitate creation and connection. Personal media will emerge as nano-networks, which are private and individualized concentric circles of media that are created, consumed, and engaged among formerly passive users.”

He points to the following companies, products and services as leaders in Nano
Networks: YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, iPhone, uStream, Magnify.net,
Threadless, and Google.

While individually the elements are powerful, Rosenbaum believes that
collectively they are changing everything.

He observes, “We are truly standing at a moment in media history like no other.
The creation of, sharing of, and interaction around shared media is profound and
world-changing.”

An analysis of the trends that have driven this evolution projects a future in which
the shift in media is driving users toward a very different media ecosystem.

The statistics and trajectory also tell the story:

- My Space: 68,285,849 - Monthly Visitors
- Wikipedia.org 41,422,790 MV
- YouTube.com 23,825,526 MV
- facebook.com 22,541,770 MV
- photobucket.com 25,548,801 MV
- craigslist.org 23,982,542 MV
- flickr.com 23,643,614 MV
- IMDB.com 17,703,766 MV
- digg.com 16,964,445 MV
- WordPress.com 6,373,166 MV

As the media landscape rapidly shifts, Rosenbaum points out, “This is a big
change. And from it, we should expect big things. Peer Production is what the
web was built to power. And a world of Nano-Networks, we're all connected.”

Unlike typical social networks that host video and connect people, Magnify.net provides the tools and resources to discover, review, organize and broadcast themed video -- regardless of where it's hosted. Videos can be easily collected from other networks including Revver, Blip.tv, MetaCafe, and YouTube, as well as news affiliates and networks through ClipSyndicate, or uploaded directly. Users can fully customize their channels to reflect their personal or corporate brand as well as share ad pages through the Magnify Ad Network to also monetize traffic.
