Live Action Martial Arts Hip Hop Comedy!

Sep 28, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ --LYRICAL ARTS: “A laugh out loud hip hop martial arts stage action comedy featuring LIVE RAP BATTLES where the audience determines the winner!” A stage play produced by Strife’s Way Productions, Ltd., written by Mister Rashawn Strife an actor and martial artist who will be performing in the play. The story follows Words and Venom, two best friends who competes in a series of rap battles to win the grand prize, a recording contract with a major record label, while dodging other competing lyricists who are desperately trying to take their lives.

Rashawn describes the play as “8 Mile meets Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon”. Only this is NOT a film, it’s a live play. The show’s cast is made of a diverse group of actors and actresses with unique backgrounds. The show has tons of laugh out loud moments, the fighting scenes including an intense sword battle are amazing, and there are also the rap battles where two characters battle instead of using fists they use words to inflict damage to each other while rhyming over a hip hop beat. After each battle, it’s up to the audience to determine which character should move on to the next round by applause, which progresses the story forward. LYRICAL ARTS is performing October 3-21, 2007 Wednesday to Saturday at 8pm, Sundays at 3pm.
