| (New York, NY) Mar 27, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ -- Throughout April, Levitate Yoga is celebrating its third birthday with special classes, workshops and sales that benefit the community. The studio’s theme this month is A Fresh Start, focusing on cleansing through renewal and rejuvenation. In this spirit Levitate is celebrating by making donations to improve the lives of children and implementing products and programs to improve the environment. Levitate Yoga's 3rd Birthday Celebration will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2006. The celebration kicks off at 12:30 pm with a Partner yoga class taught by one of New York City’s favorite instructors, Rebekah Morin, where students have the option of coming in pairs or meeting a partner in class. At 2:30, international instructors Paul Gruen and Shri Cart team up to lead a class in Kirtan (chanting). The celebration wraps up between at 3:30 and 4:30 pm with healthy refreshments. The class is open to all and a suggested donation of $25 will be given in full to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. This month’s fresh start workshop is the Spring DETOX through Yoga and Nutrition with veterans, Leigh Evans and Annie Kunjappy. Being held Saturday, April 28, 2006 from 3 to 6pm, this workshop will provide a deep cleansing of the mind and body. According to Chinese Medicine, spring is the time to attend to our livers. Some signs of liver imbalance include anger, depression, stress, neck and back tension, inflexible body, and menstrual problems. This workshop will explore ways to enhance the vitality of one’s liver through yoga postures, pranayama, acupressure points, lifestyle changes and nutrition. Annie will also offer healthy ways to cleanse the body of the effects of winter accumulation through safe fasts appropriate for each individual body type and dietary history, and delicious ways to revitalize for spring with food that nourishes and attunes your body/mind to the season. There will be sample of recipes for spring juice tonics and meals that emphasize the balanced functioning of the liver and gall bladder.
