It's adding insult to injury. A black farmer lost his land in a contested foreclosure auction with the Farm Services Administration, the courts are reportedly ignoring his class action lawsuit filing, and now the Klu Klux Klan is holding meetings on his foreclosed farm.
Harry Young of Owensboro Kentucky was the last black farmer in three western Kentucky countiies. Today he continues his legal battle to regain his land, and will talk to anyone about the injustice that he has faced. His home property is ringed with signs detailing the injustice and tourists visiting the area from as far away as Australia view the signs and ask: “How can this happen in America?”
So far, the farmer has filed several court actions, including a request for the US Circuit Court of Appeals to censor the federal district judge in Owensboro. Young believes the district court has not done its job, has not paid attention to numerous request from his lawyers for documents from the government’s attorneys.
Harry says he needs the world to know what is happening to him. Strangers are tresspassing on his property. Locked gates have been vandalized and an 80 year old black farmer seeks justice.
Harry Young continues his battle to get his story before the national and world press. Local media continue to suppress and ignore his plight, including Klu Klux Klan meetings on his foreclosed farm.
