Josh Rayman opening test session for 2007

Joshua Rayman, after seven successful years in karting, has made a move into the car racing circuit for 2007, racing a VW Golf with Andy Waters Tracksport. He hit the circuit for the first time this year, at Mallory Park (Leicester), with promising results.

After getting a seat fitting at the start of the day, he took to the circuit for the 3 morning sessions they were allotted. In the first session, he got to grips with the car and slowly built up speed. By the second session, he was up to speed and was putting in fast lap times. Until an unfortunate spin in the third session, he was on track to go faster still.

Rayman came from the session upbeat, confident of being able to go faster - as he was fast despite a very weak corner. He said : "I found the car very comfortable to drive, and you could explore the limits without worrying whether the back was going to give way to lead you to the nearest solid object! I'm looking forward to the next test session, and even more for the first race weekend in July."

Rayman is racing in a five-race series taking place at circuits across the country. He will be racing with an established team and we will be updating www.joshrayman.co.uk with news as it happens.
