Jockey Club Boxing Is Back!
December 12, 2007
We are proud to announce the re-launch of the Jockey Club Boxing concept from a few years ago. However, this time things are different!

Firstly, former World Welterweight Champion John H Stracey is endorsing the new Stable Lad’s Boxing Championship. John personally attended numerous Jockey Club Boxing Evenings over the years and believed it to be a great concept, bringing benefits to everyone involved in the Racing Industry. However, his concern was that these benefits weren’t reaching the people who really needed them. John is committed to making sure the right people get the right benefits and assistance through Stable Lad’s Boxing.

Secondly, there is the risk to individuals boxing in an unlicensed environment. John has spent months in talks with the European Boxing Federations (EBF) founder, Spencer Jones, to agree the foundations for all Stable Lad’s Boxing bouts and events to be regulated under EBF rules and regulations. This ensures the maximum safety for all people involved.

Thirdly, the aim of Stable Lad’s Boxing is to deliver benefits direct to those that need them. This will be through the involvement of the Amateur Jockey’s Association (AJA) and will also support worthwhile causes such as The Injured Jockeys Fund and Racing Welfare.

Stable Boxing is for anyone involved in the Racing Industry and will see its launch event during the Cheltenham Festival in March 2008.
