Fremont, California - Apr 04, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ -- Seeing a need for a positive approach to addiction, local hypnotherapist Stephanie Rothman, has developed a program that is an alternative to AA. “When you go to AA, you have to stand up and say, “My name is Stephanie and I am an alcoholic.” To her, that never made any sense. “It doesn’t make any sense at all to affirm, over and over again, the condition that you are wanting to release from you life. If what we focus on expands, then how does it make sense to want to state, in front of a group of people, that I’ve got that problem? Affirmations should be positive and life-affirming” Rothman decrees. “What if we stood up and said, “My name is Stephanie and I am so happy and grateful to be free today? After all, isn’t that what we really want when we join one of these groups: To be free?,” she continues. After seeing the movie, reading the book, and listening to the cds, “The Secret,” and many other movies, books, and cds on the Law of Attraction, Rothman and her hypnotherapist partner Kent Ogeletree created a cd “The Secret to the Secret” which addresses the need to program one’s mind in order to best utilize the Law of Attraction. Then she had an inspired thought. What if we used the Law of Attraction to heal addictions? Feeling that the best part about AA is the connection to others, she set out to create a group that would address the problem of addiction in a very positive and holistic manner. “What if we maintained a code that folks would take full and complete responsibility for their actions, they wouldn’t be allowed to whine, moan, or grouse about their lives, and they would always, always focus on what is right about their lives, talking about that in the group. And what if we began to focus on the life that we wanted, rather than our pasts? What if we taught people about exercise, nutrition, meditation, and spiritual connection?” All of these thoughts got Rothman excited about the possibilities. She added that folks could have an opportunity for a 60 second BMW (Bitch Moan Whine) which would be timed, and then the group would come up with solutions. Rothman will continue some of the concepts of AA including not charging folks for their participation, and the anonymous aspect as well. “It’s time for a paradigm shift in addiction recovery,” said Rothman, “this program I am proposing could be just the thing.” For more information or to join the group, which is now forming, contact Stephanie Rothman Stephanie Rothman Positive Solutions Hypnotherapy 510.870.0618 http://www.lets-talk.com ### |
