Tempe, Arizona - - Apr 10, 2007 -- /prbuzz/ -- Icon Fashion Boutique is the first and only Arizona boutique to import the flashy and glamorous NYC-based fashion line Heatherette, so grab your roller skates and glow sticks because 80’s club-kid fashion is back in a big way and is coming to the Valley of the Sun. On April 15th, 2007 Icon Fashion Boutique will unveil the uber-hip ready-to-wear line designed by iconic Heatherette fashion designers Richie Rich and Traver Rains.
Icon Fashion Boutique’s owner, ASU graduate Tiffani Borcherding says, “Icon Fashion Boutique is more about setting trends and having what's next. We bring that idea to different aspects of the store--from our location, to our designer mix to the trends we choose to highlight in our fashion shows. We are not trying to be any other boutique in AZ, and we stay away from the obvious. People should have options when shopping-- it's about personal style, it's not about wearing what everyone else is.”

Heatherette is about as fashion-forward as it gets. This NYC club-kid influenced line is known for using trademark bright colors and 80's influences among their designs. While Heatherette has been a well-known NYC fashion staple for almost 10 years, they have recently kicked the haute –couture status into high gear when they were featured on MTV’s My Super Sweet Sixteen when the 16-year old birthday girl fawned over the custom dress Rich and Rains created for her. Heatherette’s silver screen limelight has also extended to features on America’s Next Top Model and the movie “My Super Ex-Girlfriend”.

Glitter, sequins, and dreams have driven Heatherette every step of the way, transforming them from the quintessential downtown buzz brand to a respected and revered player in the fashion industry. Heatherette’s humble beginnings fable the design house starting as the duo collaborated on t-shirts and leather goods as a hobby on their living room floor.
Heatherette runway shows are known to be the most unique and outrageous at NY Fashion Week and celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Kimora Lee Simmons, and Naomi Campbell have modeled the line on the runway. Arizona trendsetters and fashion followers can expect to see the same eccentric and wildly fun themes at Icon Fashion Boutique’s upcoming fashion shows and events.

Lots of celebs have gone crazy for Heatherette garb, so says the long list of celebrity devotees that amass Hollywood. Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Pink and Justin Timberlake consistently demand the hot Heatherette tees and staples from the ready-to-wear line, while the enigmatic genius of the starry-eyed Heatherette team craft one-of-a-kind couture looks for David Beckham, Alicia Keys, and Britney Spears.

The fall 2007 collection pays homage to The Wizard of Oz, a theme which has been a huge inspiration to the designers. New York Fashion week touted ruby red slippers, rainbow emblems, blue plaid prints and tongue-in-cheek tees with quotes straight out of the 1939 film classic.

Icon Fashion Boutique has become well-known among the AZ fashion elite as the go-to destination for all things runway, and it’s no surprise that Borcherding was the first to snap up the hot new collection. Borcherding says,
“Heatherette is already a cult favorite in NYC and LA, so Arizona is definitely ready for them. It's definitely for the girl who wants to get noticed.”

Heatherette’s highly coveted, yet reasonably priced ready-to-wear line is already getting a lot of attention. According to the Women’s Wear Daily retail report,
“The newest Heatherette line retains the designers’ signature look, from puffy jackets to denim skirts…much of the line retails for less than $100.”

Located in north Tempe, Icon Fashion Boutique is the forerunner in up-and-coming designer fashions. The Heatherette line is now officially available at Icon Fashion Boutique catering directly to fashionistas looking to access the plethora of cheap-and-chic looks including hoodies, tanks, shirts, dresses, rompers, and polos. The straight-off-the runway clothing line is introduced at Icon Fashion Boutique with an unbelievable price point ranging from tank tops starting at $30 to the most expensive item being chic hoodies retailing at a whopping $60.
