2b1 Charitable Foundation Global Happiness Day 2007

/prbuzz/ -- Global Happiness Day 07/07/07 was announced late last year at Sydney’s Chinese Gardens to an audience of celebrities and corporate officials and many heads of charities when Edward de Bono came to the city for the launch of his latest book ‘The Happiness Bug’ which he helped co-write with his apprentice Shelley Sykes – whom he nicknamed The Happiness Guru.

She is Australia’s equivalent to JK Rowling (pre-discovery) an author wanting to make a difference; mother of a special needs son. Shelley set up the 2b1 Charitable Foundation with Edward de Bono and began the Global Happiness Day Campaign, which is now being embraced globally - Oprah has invited Shelley on her show this June to discuss Global Happiness Day, her book The Happiness Bug and inspirational book Callum’s Cure, which shows that magic and miracles do happen despite life’s’ circumstances. Al Gore has picked Global Happiness Day to celebrate Live Earth Concerts and the Australian, Canadian, African, British and Malaysian Governments are joining the campaign to help create a Happy Day for all people, the earth and it’s creatures on 07/07/07.

The hope is ‘that people will feel empowered and will learn that happiness is an attitude and will become educated through entertainment. That they can feel good by making a difference.” Says Shelley who is aiming to attract corporate sponsorship for her USA Tour, for free Happy Day concerts here in Australia and the seed money to produce a TV show that will begin filming her tour to meet Oprah and other dream achievers that have made it; despite hardships and film the Live Earth concerts. It is a show that will Entertain, Educate and Empower.

‘Happiness is all about having fun, appreciation and living in gratitude.’
The Happiness Guru
