Marietta, GA-August 16, 2007- Over half of all Americans believe in the existence of ghosts. Interest in the paranormal has been stoked by the popularity of shows like Sci-Fi’s Ghost Hunters and the BBC’s Most Haunted. Now, Marietta, Georgia resident Rhetta Akamatsu has written a new guidebook to help the public locate ghosts if they’re looking for them or deal with them if they don’t want them.

Ghost to Coast is a directory of ghost tours, paranormal investigation groups, and haunted hotels from state to state. In addition, it includes the author’s personal story about growing up with ghosts and useful articles on the nature of the paranormal and Ghosthunting 101.

“I wrote this book,” Ms. Akamatsu says, “because I wanted people to have a guidebook which would allow them to find ghost tours and haunted places to stay no matter where they were traveling in the United States. Ghost tours and ghost stories are a wonderful way to learn about the history and culture of an area, no matter whether you’re a believer or a skeptic. Then, I added the directory of paranormal investigation teams because, once acquaintances learned of my personal interest in paranormal investigation, they kept asking me if I knew of a good investigative team in Florida, or Arkansas, or California. I saw the need to make this information readily available, and I did the research to bring it all together.”
