If you're a father resolving to be a better dad in 2006, a free web site promises to help you keep your pledge to fatherhood.
Interactive Dad (http://www.InteractiveDad.com) is a daily online parenting magazine for dads. It offers expert fatherhood advice and timely articles written for today's dad to help motivate fathers to be better parents.
"Fatherhood has changed," says Glenn Selig, publisher of Interactive Dad Magazine. "Today's father does more and wants to be an equal partner in the raising of his children but he needs a little help and advice."
Selig says when he became a dad he was frustrated by the lack of resources for fathers.
"The magazines, books and web sites were written with mothers in mind and that was upsetting to say the least," he says, "So I developed an interactive web site for fathers."
Selig is an award-winning journalist with nearly 20 years of experience.
"It's amazing what you can accomplish when you want something badly enough," says the 38-year-old Selig, father of a 3-year-old girl and 1-year-old boy. "Being a good father is that important."
WHAT THE FATHERHOOD SITE OFFERS The fatherhood site offers parenting tips as well as articles on family finance, saving money and college savings programs. There are new articles posted daily, written by experts in their fields or professional writers.
"I like to call this 'news you can use' for dads," says Selig. "With just a click of a mouse, the site puts valuable information at fathers' fingertips."
The online magazine also has an Ask the Expert section. Dads are invited to email questions to receive free expert parenting advice from noted Beverly Hills, Calif. psychiatrist Dr. Charles Sophy.
The site is online 24/7 at InteractiveDad.com. It attracts visitors from all over the world.
PLEASE NOTE: iDAD publisher Glenn Selig and psychiatrist Dr. Charles Sophy are available for interviews.
